Directed by Chu Yin-Ping, The Treasure Hunter (2009) is a Taiwanese action adventure that combines Indiana Jones style archaeology, kung-fu and supernatural themes. The story concerns a relic hunter, charged with restituting looted ancient treasures, who gets caught up in the quest to find and protect a magical temple hidden in the desert sands from those that wish to rob the site of it's countless riches. Action and decent special effects keep the story moving along at a steady rate. The cast does a good job, including Jay Chou, Lin Chi-ling, Eric Tsang, Chen Daoming, Baron Chen, Will Liu and Miao Pu.
