Within the text, Ron Hansen provides an in-depth portrait of the two men, dissecting the hero-worship mythology surrounding those anti-heroes and presenting the true history with gritty realism and subtle, refined nuances.
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is a modern Classic and a "must read." It was later adapted into a wonderful film of the same name, released in 2007, starring Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck in the title roles.
