Live and Let Die (1973): Roger Moore as James Bond 007
Directed by Guy Hamilton, based on the novel by Ian Fleming, Live and Let Die (1973) was the 8th film in the James Bond series, and the first to star Roger Moore as MI6 Agent 007. The story finds James Bond deployed to America to investigate a mysterious series of deaths surrounding a superstitious heroin trafficking ring. The locales range from New York City to New Orleans to the Caribbean. Fast paced action culminates in a famous speedboat chase through the bayou. Roger Moore does a fine job as James Bond. Jane Seymour is beautiful as the Bond Girl, Solitaire. Gloria Hendry is lovely as CIA Agent Rosie Carver. The supporting cast is good as well, including Yaphet Kotto, David Hedison and Bernard Lee. Paul McCartney composed the memorable title song.
