Joseph: King of Dreams (2000): Animated Genesis

Directed by Rob LaDuca, and produced by Dreamworks Pictures, Joseph: King of Dreams (2000) is based on the Biblical tale set forth in the last chapters of the Book of Genesis. A miracle child, Joseph is favored by his father, Jacob. The attention lavished on Joseph (including the gift of a colorful coat) instills jealousy in his brothers… and his siblings sell him into slavery in Egypt. But when Pharaoh discovers that Joseph is a blessed interpreter of dreams, he realizes the salvation of famine-destined Egypt may be at hand. The quality of the animation is good, especially in the scenes that depict Ancient Egyptian art and architecture. The voice cast does a great job, including Ben Affleck, Mark Hamill, James Eckhouse, Richard McGonagle and Richard Herd.
