Directed by Gabor Csupo, based on "The Little White Horse" by Elizabeth Goudge, The Secret of Moonacre (2008) is an enjoyable fantasy tale with magical twists and a historic period backdrop. When a young girl loses her parents, she is sent to live with an eccentric uncle at the mysterious Moonacre Manor… where she discovers an ancient dilemma that only she can resolve. The cast does a good job all-around, including Dakota Blue Richards, Ioan Gruffudd, Tim Curry, Juliet Stevenson and Natascha McElhone.
