Written and directed by Alfonso Cuaron, Gravity (2013) was a huge box office hit, winning seven Academy Awards including Best Cinematography and Best Director. The story follows two astronauts who become stranded in space after a mid-orbit collision with a debris field destroys their space shuttle, and the subsequent efforts to find a way to return to Earth. The cinematography and special effects are just astounding, a visual marvel. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney are superb in the two lead roles.
