The Saint (2017): Simon Templar

Directed by Ernie Barbarash, based on the characters created by Leslie Charteris, The Saint (2017) was filmed in 2013 as a proposed television pilot but was not picked up. It was later released as a TV movie in 2017 as a tribute to Sir Roger Moore, who played the title role in the 1960's TV series of the same name and briefly appears in this production, in his final on screen role. The espionage thriller plot centers on Simon Templar, a master thief with family lineage connecting him to the Knights Templar, who is asked to find the kidnapped daughter of a wealthy man and retrieve $2.5 Billion in funds that have been diverted from charitable relief. Eliza Dushku steals the show in her role as Templar's sidekick, but some of the performances are hit or miss, including Adam Rayner in the lead role and Enrique Murciano.
