NASA to Include Art by Travis Simpkins in Presentation by Roger Hunter of the Kepler Mission

I was recently contacted by Roger Hunter, of the NASA Ames Research Center, requesting the use of my artwork for an upcoming presentation. I happily agreed, of course, and my drawing of Hermetic philosopher/astronomer Giordano Bruno (1548-1600) will appear on screen during Colonel Hunter's keynote lecture in Sorrento, Italy later this month. That particular section of his talk will focus on Giordano Bruno's views concerning "other worlds." Colonel Roger Hunter is the project manager for the Kepler Mission. Stated on their website: "The Kepler Mission, NASA Discovery Mission #10, is specifically designed to survey our region of the Milky Way galaxy to discover hundreds of Earth-size and smaller planets in or near the habitable zone and determine the fraction of the hundreds of billions of stars in our galaxy that might have such planets."
