Directed by George Marshall, based on the novel by Max Brand, Destry Rides Again (1939) is a charming Western comedy with a heart. The story focuses on a deputy sheriff, who doesn't believe in carrying guns, sent to clean up a lawless town in the old west. James Stewart is perfect as Destry, the level-headed lawman. Marlene Dietrich is sexy as Frenchy, a saloon girl. The film is a true Classic.
