If you’re visiting the Masonic Temple in Philadelphia, look for this display of two important historical documents from 1808 in the Museum & Library. On the left is a letter from Meriwether Lewis (of the Lewis and Clark Expedition) seeking a lodge warrant from the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania to form the first Lodge in St. Louis. On the right is the Grand Master’s response to the Grand Secretary regarding the request. Thanks to the Museum for the shoutout by including an image of my portrait of Meriwether Lewis on the display card.
