The Living Daylights (1987): Timothy Dalton as James Bond 007

Directed by John Glen, based on the works of Ian Fleming, The Living Daylights (1987) is the 15th film in the James Bond series, and the first to star Timothy Dalton as MI6 Agent 007. The story finds James Bond tasked with stopping a driven arms dealer from prompting another World War, with the aid of a lovely cellist. Chases, fast-paced action and fancy gadgets abound. Timothy Dalton does a fine job in his premier outing as James Bond. Maryam d'Abo is beautiful and elegant as the Bond Girl, Kara Milovy. The supporting cast is good as well, including John Rhys-Davies, Joe Don Baker, Art Malik and Jeroen Krabbe.

Into the Blue 2: The Reef (2009): Treasure of the San Cristobal Shipwreck

Directed by Stephen Herek, and written by Sara Berrisford, Into the Blue 2: The Reef (2009) is a sequel in name only, having no carry-over characters or storyline from the first film. The plot centers on a couple in Hawaii that run a diving-for-hire business, who are hired by a mysterious European couple to find the long-lost 17th Century Spanish sunken shipwreck of the treasure-filled San Cristobal… full of gold and jewels worth hundreds of millions. However, they soon find out that their employers have much more devious motives. The storyline isn't great and the acting is lackluster, but the straight-to-video film does have some exciting moments with it's good-looking cast and the underwater cinematography is excellent. Laura Vandervoort and Marsha Thomason are beautiful in the two most prominent female roles. The rest of the cast is hit-or-miss, including Chris Carmack, Mircea Monroe, Michael Graziadei and David Anders.
