National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007): Lost City of Gold

Directed by Jon Turteltaub, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures, National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets (2007) brought a new adventure in this exciting sequel. Benjamin Gates, in the process of clearing his great-grandfather's name as a Lincoln assassination conspirator, discovers clues that might lead to a legendary City of Gold… a secret contained in a guarded book rumored to be passed from each U.S. President to the next. From John Wilkes Booth's diary to the Resolute Desks, from the Library of Congress to Mount Vernon, from Buckingham Palace to the White House, from Mount Rushmore to the gilded temples of Cibola… the history-rich and art-filled plot remains entertaining from start to finish. Nicolas Cage is great, reprising the lead role. The supporting cast is good as well, including Diane Kruger, Ed Harris, Jon Voight, Helen Mirren, Harvey Keitel and Justin Bartha.

A View to a Kill (1985): Roger Moore as James Bond 007

Directed by John Glen, based on the works of Ian Fleming, A View to a Kill (1985) was the 14th film in the James Bond series, and the seventh to star Roger Moore in the role of MI6 Agent 007. The story finds James Bond investigating a wealthy industrialist that is planning to destroy Silicon Valley by causing an earthquake, so that he may corner the world's market for computer microchips. The locales and explosions are equally grand. Duran Duran provides the title song in typical 1980's fashion. Roger Moore is great as James Bond. Christopher Walken is deranged as the villain, Max Zorin. The Bond Girls are all beautiful: Grace Jones as May Day, Tanya Roberts as Stacy Sutton, and Fiona Fullerton as KGB agent Pola Ivanova.
