Justice League (2017): DC Comics. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman Battle Ancient Steppenwolf

Justice League. 2017. DC Comics. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman Battle Steppenwolf

Directed by Zack Snyder, based on the DC Comics characters, Justice League (2017) picks up where Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) left off. With a production cost of $300 Million, Justice League is one of the most expensive films ever made. The story finds Batman, inspired by the selfless death of Superman, enlisting the help of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg to battle the ancient Steppenwolf. The plot has nice mythological elements with Ancient Greek Gods and the fabled Lost City of Atlantis thrown in. The special effects are amazing and the cast does a great job, including Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman.

Clash of the Titans (2010): Perseus, Zeus, Hades, Medusa and the Kraken

Directed by Louis Leterrier, Clash of the Titans (2010) met with some scathing reviews upon it's release, but is actually much better than one would expect. Part of the problem rested with the production being delayed so that the film could be re-formatted to fit the newly-popular 3D mode. As a result, some of the story and standard sets are lost on the CGI effects... which are indeed impressive at points. The story is very loosely based upon the myth of Perseus, and is enjoyable if taken at face value. A sequel, Wrath of the Titans, followed two years later. The cast is good, including Sam Worthington as Perseus, Liam Neeson as Zeus and Ralph Fiennes as Hades.
