Directed by Timur Bekmambetov, and produced by Tim Burton, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012) was based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. The story proposes that Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, led a secret side-life as a vampire hunter… slaying the undead with a silver-blade ax. The 19th Century period costume and set design adds a stylish take on historical fashion. Dark hues and dramatic lighting compliment the gothic cinematography. The CGI vampire effects and fight scenes are well-choreagraphed and portrayed. The cast does a good job all-around, including Benjamin Walker as Abraham Lincoln, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie, Rufus Sewell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Marton Csokas.
