Directed by Neil Jordan, and written by Anne Rice (based on her own 1976 novel), Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) is pure visual splendor. Framed by a modern-day telling to a reporter, the story concerns two vampires, Lestat and Louis, beginning with Louis' transformation into a vampire after being bitten by Lestat in 1790's New Orleans… and their turning of of a 12-year-old- girl into a vampire as well. The lead actors are all amazing: Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, Christian Slater and Kirsten Dunst. With period detail and vibrant colors, the film is a stunning cinematic triumph.
