Washington Lodge No. 20. Masons in California. Interview with Travis Simpkins
Thanks to Washington Lodge No. 20 in Sacramento, California for featuring this interview with yours truly. It's wonderful to see that this text is still making the rounds online.
Directed by Jean Mamy, written by Jean Marques-Riviere, Forces Occultes (1943) is pure Anti-Masonic propaganda… a project commissioned by a delegation from Nazi Germany's ministry within occupied France. The full title (in English) is Occult Forces: The mysteries of Freemasonry unveiled for the first time on the screen. The director, Jean Mamy, was an ex-Mason and supplied much of the source material. The ludicrous story follows a man who seeks to relaunch his career by joining the Freemasons, and how he learns of the secret plot of the Masons conspiring with the Jews to encourage France into war against Germany. After the end of World War II, the film's writer and director were convicted of collaboration with the enemy. Marques-Riviere was sentenced to 3 years in prison and Jean Mamy was condemned to death and was executed in 1949.

Directed by Dominic Sena (with uncredited reshoots by Brett Ratner), and written by Bragi F. Schut, Season of the Witch (2011) was a moderate box office success. The 14th Century medieval story concerns two Teutonic Knights tasked with transporting a suspected witch, accused of causing the plague, to a remote Monastery… where the Key of Solomon, an ancient book filled with Holy rituals used to defeat evil, is kept. Wonderful, dark historic atmosphere permeates the fantasy story topics that range from the Crusades to Exorcism. The cast dos a great job, including Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, Claire Foy and the late Christopher Lee.
