Though more than 120 years old, Shibboleth: A Templar Monitor by George Cooper Connor remains an indispensable resource for those going through a Commandery and experiencing the Chivalric Orders of the York Rite in Freemasonry. The book is the lasting legacy of Bro. Connor, who passed away just a few days after completing the preface to the 5th edition.
Similar in format to other 19th Century Masonic texts, the book offers instructions on the floor work, ritual and regalia associated with the Orders as well as providing a historical summary and notes in regards to context. The content is broken down into the Order of the Red Cross, Order of the Temple and includes the Order of Malta (but only as part of an Appendix). Useful beyond measure, the instructions are both informative and enlightening.
