Wyatt Earp (1994): Kevin Costner, Dennis Quaid and Gene Hackman
Directed by Lawrence Kasdan, Wyatt Earp (1994) is a sweeping Biopic of the legendary Old West lawman. Ill received and lengthy, the film had the misfortune of being released mere months after the more entertaining Tombstone (1993) which featured many of the same characters. The film does, however, have many strong points, and gives a wide view of Earp's life… from a horse thief, to a buffalo hunter to a lawman in Dodge City and Tombstone. The ensemble cast does a fine job, including Kevin Costner as Wyatt Earp and Dennis Quaid as Doc Holliday. The supporting cast is good as well, including Gene Hackman, Bill Pullman, JoBeth Williams, Tom Sizemore, Isabella Rossellini and Michael Madsen.
