Sherlock Holmes (2009): Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and the Illuminati
Directed by Guy Ritchie, using his signature high-energy style, Sherlock Holmes (2009) sought to revive and reboot the image of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 19th Century detective to suit the mindset of 21st Century audiences. In that regard, the film is tremendously successful... full of style, stunts, special effects, sharp editing and a great soundtrack. The story finds Sherlock Holmes investigating a series of murders surrounding a Black Magic wielding aristocrat, Lord Blackwood, who seemingly returns from the dead to rule over an ancient Illuminati like Secret Society and plots to overthrow Parliament. Robert Downey Jr. is engaging as Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law is a nice variant of Dr. Watson. The supporting cast does a fine job as well, including Mark Strong and Rachel McAdams.

The artwork I made for bestselling British author Graham Hancock is being put to good use in promoting events related to his new book, "Magicians of the Gods" which was released in the United States on Tuesday, 10 November. Mr. Hancock is starting an American book/lecture tour this week, and I believe he is circling back to Boston later this month. Check out the book, his works are always bold and thought-provoking.
