Blood of the Tribades (2016): Michael J. Epstein, Sophia Cacciola, Mary Widow and Vampires

Written, produced and directed by the husband/wife team of Michael J. Epstein and Sophia Cacciola, Blood of the Tribades (2016) pays homage to the Euro lesbian vampire films of the 1970's. The storyline is both clever and entertaining: 2000 years after the vampire Bathor created them, men and women battle for control amidst superstition and violence. Themes of feminism, patriarchal society and religious traditions are steady undercurrents throughout the film. The script is well-written, the cinematography is stylish and the cast does a great job with the material, including Chloe Cunha, Mary Widow and Seth Chatfield. Michael J. Epstein and Sophia Cacciola were well known in the Boston music scene before moving to Los Angeles to pursue film careers. It's wonderful to observe them utilizing their versatile creative talents in new, offbeat ways. I'm proud to have been a Kickstarter supporter in funding the production of this film as well as several of their previous projects.
