Supreme Council, 33°, NMJ. Scottish Rite. Acquisition of SGC Portraits by Travis Simpkins

Supreme Council, 33°, NMJ. Scottish Rite. Acquisition of portraits by Travis Simpkins

I am pleased that these two portrait drawings have found a permanent home at the headquarters of the Supreme Council, 33°, NMJ in Lexington, Massachusetts. The portraits depict Past Sovereign Grand Commanders Daniel D. Tompkins, 33° (first SCG, served 1813-1825) and J.J.J. Gourgas, 33° (served 1832-1851). Two of the awards the NMJ confers, the Tompkins Award and the Gourgas Medal, are named in honor of these two SGC's. It's always meaningful for me to have my artwork placed in collections where they most belong, and I'm glad these portraits will be displayed in the halls of Supreme Council for future generations to enjoy.
