Absolute Power (1997): Clint Eastwood as a Master Thief, a Heist and the President of the United States

Produced, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood, and written by William Goldman, Absolute Power (1997) is a superb political thriller mixed with a heist film. The story concerns a master jewel thief who hides during a heist, and witnesses a woman murdered by the Secret Service and the President of the United States. Mind games, cat and mouse tricks and masterful direction play out nicely as the story unfolds. Clint Eastwood is wonderful as the aging burglar. Gene Hackman is great as the President. Ed Harris is dedicated as the detective assigned to the case. The rest of the cast is good as well, including Scott Glenn, E.G. Marshall (in his final film role), Laura Linney and Judy Davis.
