Senator Michael O. Moore and Travis Simpkins Welcome Student Artists to Massachusetts State House

Myself and Senator Michael O. Moore with students (and their parents) from Worcester, who were invited to display their artwork at the Massachusetts State House in Boston. For most of the students, it was their first visit to the State Capitol, and they were all deservedly proud of the opportunity. Of all the projects I have the pleasure to work on, this is one of favorites.

Senator Michael Moore to Host Student Artists at Massachusetts State House with Travis Simpkins

It is a busy time at the Massachusetts State House. Once again, I am working with Senator Mike Moore to organize an exhibit of artwork created by college students from central MA, which will go on display at the historic State Capitol building on Beacon Hill. We will look through submissions and make selections this month, and then prepare a reception sometime in late April. Of all the projects I have the pleasure of working on, this is one of my favorites. It offers a unique opportunity for me to help aspiring young artists and they, along with their parents and professors, are all very proud when touring the State House.

Janet Simpkins to Show Her Paintings at Massachusetts State House

I'm very proud of my beautiful and talented wife, Janet Simpkins. Beginning December 1st, and continuing for several months, she will have two of her mini-paintings put on display at the historic Massachusetts State House in Boston. Her two Worcester-themed works, depicting the Worcester 6 Firefighter Memorial and the Korean War Memorial, will be placed on view in the office lobby of Senator Michael Moore. It is a great honor to have her work showcased at the State Capitol. Congratulations, Janet!

Senator Michael Moore and Travis Simpkins Present Massachusetts Senate Citation in Worcester

Senator Michael Moore, Janet Simpkins, Travis Simpkins, Luis Fraire. Worcester, MA

Saturday, alongside Senator Michael Moore, I had the privilege of presenting my good friends Luis Fraire and Birgit Straehle with an official citation from the Massachusetts Senate, commending their "Dedication to Promoting the Arts in Worcester."

Saturday was also the opening reception of "Various Artists, Various Media" featuring the work of 40 Worcester -area artists (including my lovely and talented wife, Janet Simpkins) at the Sprinkler Factory Art Gallery. Check it out, the exhibition is open until June 5th.

Senator Michael Moore and Travis Simpkins welcome Students to Massachusetts State House

Yesterday, five talented college students from Worcester enjoyed the honor of having their artwork displayed at the Massachusetts State House. Each received an official citation from Senator Moore, commending their skill and dedication. The students and their proud parents were treated to an artist's reception and were given a special guided tour of the historic State House (including the Senate and House Chambers as well as the Governor's office area). I'm glad that I contributed to this opportunity and that I had the privilege of being there.
