Concise yet detailed, Founding Fathers, Secret Societies by Robert Hieronimus, Ph.D. takes an in depth look at one of the more enigmatic emblems of our nation: The Great Seal of the United States. On page 4, Hieronimus writes, "The reverse of the Great Seal is reminding us that the true destiny of America is to spread the transformation of human consciousness beyond our individual country and to the planet, for when 'thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light' (Matthew6:22)." Beginning with the Native American influence on the democratic views of our Founding Fathers, the book then launches into the bulk of the text which illustrates each and every detail of the long process of multiple committees designing the Great Seal… with a particular focus on the symbolism contained within the reverse image of the unfinished pyramid and all-seeing eye. Input by Freemasons is discussed as well as contributions from other sources. In addition to Masonic elements, there are numerous pages devoted to New Age paradigm viewpoints as well. All in all, the book is worth the cover price and makes for an informative 205-page read.

The Templars in America Book Series by David S. Brody
The "Templars in America" book series by David S. Brody is one of the most enjoyable projects I've discovered in recent years. After visiting Newport, Rhode Island I was looking for material related to the mysterious Newport Tower and stumbled upon the first book in Brody's ongoing series, Cabal of the Westford Knight: Templars at the Newport Tower. I greatly enjoyed it's energy and intrigue, so much so that I bought the other five books in the series in quick succession. I read through them all at a measured pace and developed a respect for David S. Brody's unique niche of history thrillers. Each book is inspired by Brody's research into the idea of Pre-Columbian exploration of America in the distant past (including the Knights Templar, Celtic Druids, the Phoenicians and others). Each story has a degree of Masonic influence and involvement as well. Some concepts and themes are more far fetched than others, but it is fiction after all. It's a fascinating subject all-around, and Brody manages to take the artifacts related to his research and weave a taught thriller around them. It is indeed a running series, with the same researcher couple (Cameron Thorne and Amanda Spencer-Gunn) appearing as the protagonists in each installment, but each volume could really be read as a stand alone book.
I've heard David S. Brody mention that he recently finished writing the seventh book in the series, titled The Cult of Venus, and that it will be released later this year.
In order the books are:
1) Cabal of the Westford Knight: Templars at the Newport Tower
2) Thief on the Cross: Templar Secrets in America
3) Powdered Gold: Templars and the American Ark of the Covenant
4) The Oath of Nimrod: Giants, MK-Ultra and the Smithsonian Coverup
5) The Isaac Question: Templars and the Secret of the Old Testament
6) Echoes of Atlantis: Crones, Templars and the Lost Continent 7) The Cult of Venus: Templars and the Ancient Goddess
