I am, of course, accustomed to the wording of the Preston-Webb ritual used in most Jurisdictions of the United States. But, I have been enjoying this English "Emulation Lodge" ritual. Some interesting differences.

The Perfect Ceremonies of Craft Masonry and the Holy Royal Arch was the 2021 selection of the Masonic Book Club. It also features some pretty cool portraits of the editors by yours truly (Arturo de Hoyos, 33°, GC and S. Brent Morris, 33°, GC).

Introduction by Arturo de Hoyos, 33°, GC, and S. Brent Morris, 33°, GC. Volume 42 of the Masonic Book Club, whose purpose is to publish classic Masonic books and support Scottish Rite, SJ, USA Philanthropies.

This is a book for the student of Masonic ritual. In 1813 the "Antients" and "Moderns" Grand Lodges merged to form the current United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE). Over the next two years the new Grand Lodge worked to produce a form of ritual with elements from both groups. Although the ritual wasn't officially transcribed, the founders of the "Emulation Lodge of Improvement" were among those who witnessed the new ritual. While not used today, The Perfect Ceremonies are the lineal ancestors of the official Emulation ritual, lectures, and the installation ceremony for officers. Also included is a contemporary version of the Royal Arch Degree, which completes the "pure ancient Masonry" of the UGLE. This special printing reproduces the first editions of these works, and includes a rare insert which was privately distributed. Engravings by Hans Holbein enhance the pages.

Hardbound (5"x7"), marbled covers, satin ribbon, rubricated title pages, and index. 392 pages.
