The Spirit of St. Louis (1957): James Stewart as Charles Lindbergh

Directed by Billy Wilder, The Spirit of St. Louis (1957) is a widely praised biopic. The story follows the lengthy preparations of aviator Charles Lindbergh as he prepares for his amazing feat of being the first pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic from New York to Paris. It includes flashbacks of Lindbergh's early efforts and work in aviation. Wonderful cinematography mixes with expert direction and acting. James Stewart is superb as the determined Charles Lindbergh.

New Book "Masonic America" by Dr. Vance Penn Includes Art by Travis Simpkins

Masonic America by Dr. Vance Penn Includes Portraits by Travis Simpkins

I am pleased that some of my portraits are included in the new book, Masonic America: Architects of a Nation by Dr. Vance Penn. I contributed four images in all: Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Buffalo Bill Cody and Charles Lindbergh. Each one accompanies a chapter about that individual. Bro. Penn is based out of Texas and the content of this excellent book formed part of his doctoral dissertation.

The book is available for purchase through amazon here:
