The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses. Grimoire. Magick. Edited by Joseph H. Peterson

I'm reading through "The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses" grimoire edited by Joseph H. Peterson...

For people interested in folk magic. The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses, arguably one of the most popular magick books ever published, contains two secret apocrypha ascribed to Moses, perhaps pseudepigraphically. The book consists of a collection of texts, which claim to explain the magick Moses used to win the biblical magick contest with the Egyptian priest-magicians, part the Red Sea, and perform other miraculous feats. It includes instruction in the form of invocations, magick words, and seals for calling upon the angels to affect worldly ends, from the sublime (calling down a plague of locusts and frogs upon your enemy) to the mundane (getting more money). Many manuscripts and printed pamphlet versions circulated in Germany in the 1800s, and an English translation by Johann Scheible first appeared in New York in 1880 that had not been corrected or re-edited until now. In creating this restored, corrected edition, Joseph Peterson drew on Scheible's final edition of the text and his original sources. It will be of great interest to those who have suffered through prior editions and anyone looking for a traditional source of Western magick. * Used in various modern traditions of American folk magick, from Pennsylvania Dutch hexmeisters and contemporary eclectic magicians, to voodoo practitioners and African American root workers. * Updated or fresh translations from original German, Latin, and Hebrew sources and restoration of censored or left out passages in earlier editions and 35 pages of text never before translated. * Describes the biblical magick ascribed to Moses and its application. * Extensively illustrated with over 100 magical seals, signs, and sigils.

"The Isaac Question" by David S. Brody

The Isaac Question
Templars and the Secret of
the Old Testament
by David S. Brody
Eyes That See Publishing, 2015
Notes by Travis Simpkins

The Isaac Question is the fifth book in David S. Brody's "Templars in America" series, and for all intents and purposes, essentially picks up where The Oath of Nimrod left off… continuing the story of protagonist couple Cameron Thorne and Amanda Spencer as they investigate the secret pre-Columbian history and artifacts of North America. However, it is also very much a stand alone novel and can still be thoroughly enjoyed without prior reading of the first four installments in the series.
The plot revisits the author's usual Templar material and adds further focus and new observations on potential links between the old Testament figure Moses, the Pharaoh Akhenaten and the mysterious Baphomet head so revered by the Templars. Along the way, interesting parallels are drawn between various groups... like the Druids and the Freemasons, for example. To discuss the plot further would be an injustice to the many surprises contained within the book's pages.
Like in his previous work, David S. Brody assembles a collection of artifacts related to the European exploration of America long before Columbus and weaves a fast-paced thriller around them in expert fashion. This book mentions many stone chambers in the northeastern US, Norumbega Tower, Roquepertuse, Gungywamp, Druid Hill, the Stone of Destiny, Cleopatra's Needle in New York, Kent Chamber, Balanced Rock and the Vermont Beltane Stone. Particularly intriguing are the scenes which play out in the House of the Temple in Washington, D.C. and around the Apprentice Pillar at Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland. Also included are many references to the Freemasons and Brody's beloved New England sites like America's Stonehenge, the Westford Knight and the Newport Tower. Both informative and entertaining, this book (along with Brody's other work) is deserving of praise and more wide-spread attention.

Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014): Christian Bale as Moses

Directed by Ridley Scott, Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014) is an astounding CGI based Biblical epic film. The well-known story follows Moses, once a Prince of Egypt, who discovers his true heritage and leads 400,000 Hebrew slaves out of Egypt and away from Pharaoh Ramses in the wake of a series of plagues inflicted by God. The script obviously takes some liberties with dialogue and character development. The special effects are incredible and great attention was given to portraying the sets of Ancient Egypt in it's historical splendor… from the Great Pyramids to Abu Simbel. Disregard any negative reviews, the film is a wondrous cinematic experience. The cast does a good job all-around, including Christian Bale as Moses, Joel Edgerton as Rameses, John Turturro as Seti I, Sigourney Weaver and Ben Kingsley. Spanish actress Maria Valverde is stunningly beautiful as Zipporah, the wife of Moses.
