Native Healer. Initiation Into An Ancient Art. Medicine Grizzlybear Lake. Shamanism

Native Healer. Initiation Into An Ancient Art. Medicine Grizzlybear Lake. Shamanism
Native Healer. Initiation Into An Ancient Art. Medicine Grizzlybear Lake. Shamanism

"Native Healer" by Medicine Grizzlybear Lake provides an interesting glimpse into the world of Native American shamanism. This text was published through Quest Books of the Theosophical Society.

Many today claim to be healers and spiritual teachers, but Medicine Grizzlybear Lake definitely is both. In this work he explains how a person is called by higher powers to be a medicine man or woman and describes the trials and tests of a candidate. Lake gives a colorful picture of Native American shamanism and discusses ceremonies such as the vision quest and sweat lodge.

Chamalu. The Shamanic Way of the Heart. Luis Espinoza. Inca Teachings

Chamalu. The Shamanic Way of the Heart. Luis Espinoza. Inca Teachings
Chamalu. The Shamanic Way of the Heart. Luis Espinoza. Inca Teachings

I'm enjoying "Chamalu: The Shamanic Way of the Heart" by Luis Espinoza. Presented as a series of conversations, this text sets out the wisdom of the Incas as preserved through oral traditions.

Chamalu tells the story of a young woman's initiation into Andean wisdom traditions under the guidance of Chamalu, a Quechua shaman. The sacred way of the heart, he tells her, is a spiritual journey that must be undergone by anyone who aspires to be a Wanderer--a person who transcends illusion and embraces primal reality, unmediated by religious doctrine or intellectual constructs. The woman asks him to show her how to release herself from the emotional pain that paralyzes her, and gradually, over a series of meetings, Chamau reveals to her the secret of reconnecting with the spirits of the ancestors and of Pachamama, Mother Earth.
Presented as a series of conversations, Chamalu encompasses teachings that can be lived and experienced by anyone who truly desires to learn.
Simply told in language that appeals directly to the heart, Chamalu allows the reader to experience Andean shamanic teachings based on the ancient Inca heritage of wisdom, inner power, simplicity, and joy.

Global Ritualism. Myth and Magic Around the World. Denny Sargent

I'm enjoying "Global Ritualism: Myth and Magic Around the World" by Denny Sargent. More than a survey text, this book examines common threads within the rituals of various cultures. The intent is that practitioners might broaden their horizons to include a more eclectic mix of elements in their personal rituals, a mix that best suits their unique individual goals.

From Haiti to Egypt, this book analyzes the common themes and archetypal symbols of higher ritual so that readers can define how these archetypes play out in their own lives. It enables the construction of personal, living rituals and includes photographs of actual rituals from around the world.

Ancient Echoes. The Anasazi Book of Chants. Mary Summer Rain

I'm enjoying reading through "Ancient Echoes: The Anasazi Book of Chants" by Mary Summer Rain. These prayers, written in the spirit of the Anasazi, were perceived by Mary Summer Rain through long periods of meditation.

Mary Summer Rain answers to the highest calling: that of her heart and soul. This collection of prayers, chants, and poems that she received from the Anasazi through a spiritual connection is something we can read and reread and use in our daily lives. I highly recommend this to anyone, who can appreciate heartfelt messages from the soul paying respect to the forces... M. Shipman

The Seven Paths. Changing One's Way of Walking in the World. Anasazi Foundation. Native American
The Seven Paths. Changing One's Way of Walking in the World. Anasazi Foundation. Native American

"The Seven Paths" is a thoughtful little book from the Anasazi Foundation. It is a Native American tale about finding one's way through the aid of deity, nature, community and altruism.

People have moved away from Mother Earth, bringing heartache, pain, and other maladies of the modern age. The “self-help” movement claims to offer peace and fulfillment to individuals, but this solitary approach takes us only so far. Ultimately, it is in communion with our fellow beings and the natural world that we are made whole. We need to leave the path of Me and follow the path of We.

This poetic, evocative story presents the meditations of an ancient Anasazi tribesman who rejects his family and sets off on a journey through the desert. He walks seven paths, each teaching a lesson symbolized by an element of the natural world: light, wind, water, stone, plants, animals, and, finally, the unity of all beings with the Creator. The Seven Paths reveals a source of wisdom, restoration, and renewal familiar to native people but lost to the rest of us, seven elements among nature that combine to mend human hearts.

The Knights Templar in the New World. How Henry Sinclair Brought the Grail to Acadia. William F. Mann

The Knights Templar in the New World. How Henry Sinclair Brought the Grail to Acadia. William F. Mann
The Knights Templar in the New World. How Henry Sinclair Brought the Grail to Acadia. William F. Mann

I picked up a copy of "The Knights Templar in the New World" by William Mann.
Fans of Scott Wolter and America Unearthed would enjoy it. Some similar themes.
William Mann is involved in the York Rite and serves as Grand Master of Knights Templar in Canada.

Uses the principles of sacred geometry, archaeological evidence, and Native American legend to discover the site of a secret Templar settlement in Nova Scotia

• Offers evidence that Scottish prince Henry Sinclair not only sailed to the New World 100 years before Columbus, but that he also established a refuge there for the Templars fleeing persecution

• Shows that the Grail, the holy bloodline connecting the House of David to the Merovingian dynasty through Jesus and Mary Magdalene, was hidden in the New World

In 1398, almost 100 years before Columbus arrived in the New World, the Scottish prince Henry Sinclair, Earl of Orkney, sailed to what is today Nova Scotia, where his presence was recorded by Micmac Indian legends about Glooskap. This was the same Prince Henry Sinclair who offered refuge to the Knights Templar fleeing the persecution unleashed against the order by French king Philip the Fair at the beginning of the 14th century. With evidence from archaeological sites, indigenous legend, and sacred geometry handed down by the Templar order to the Freemasons, author William F. Mann has now rediscovered the site of the settlement established by Sinclair and his Templar followers in the New World. Here they found a safe refuge for the Grail--the holy bloodline connecting the House of David to the Merovingian Dynasty through the descendants of Jesus and Mary Magdalene--until the British exiled all the Acadians in 1755.
